Visual Rating Tools are widely used in the medical field to assess and classify the degree of severity of a condition or observation. Measure of the degree of impairment, disability, level of pain, psychiatric condition or cognitive status, some have also been proposed in relation to imaging observations. In brain imaging for instance, visual rating scales have been developed to assess lobar degrees of atrophy, lacunar lesions prevalence or describe white matter hyperintensity (WMH) distribution.
