Miscellaneous Information

I graduated in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Cagliari (Italy), where during my final year project I started to build programming skills in the context of decoding peripheral neural signals acquired with electrodes with different levels of selectivity. Being fascinated by the nervous system I acquired an MSc in Neurotechnology at the Imperial College of London where I focused on developing an algorithm to detect high frequency activity surrounding Cortical Spreading Depolarisation events. During my MSc I had the chance to apply my programming skills to medical image processing and decided to move from signal processing to image processing. In 2016, I joined the ESPRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Medical Imaging for a 4-year MRes + PhD programme with a project created in the context of an ERC project which aims to build a probabilistic brain atlas at ultra-high resolution.

Atzeni A, Jansen M, Ourselin S, Iglesias JE: "A probabilistic model combining deep learning and multi-atlas segmentation for semi-automated labelling of histology", MICCAI 2018, accepted.
