André Altmann has joined the TIG Academic Team from Stanford University. André has been awarded an MRC Seniour Fellowship as part of a new Medical Research Council (MRC) grant entitled "Medical Bioinformatics: Data-Driven Discovery for Personalised Medicine" and the eMedLab consortium.
Recent examples of André's research:
- Richiardi & Altmann et al. Correlated gene expression supports synchronous activity in brain networks, Science, 2015
- Altmann et al. Regional Brain Hypometabolism Is Unrelated to Regional Amyloid Plaque Burden, Brain, 2015
The eMedLab is a consortium of institutions comprising UCL, Queen Mary University of London, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, the Francis Crick Institute, the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and the European Bioinformatics Institute. The consortium will have access to a shared offsite datacenter and high performance computing cluster that will allow scientists to analyse human genome data and medical images, together with clinical and other physiological and social data.
