We are seeking a post-doctoral research associate (PDRA) to develop automated or semi-automated methods for the reconstruction of the histological data, by taking advantage of heterogeneous sources of information (e.g. existing lower-resolution probabilistic atlases, manual segmentation, MRI scans). These techniques will be used to recover the 3D structure of histology samples from 10 different cases provided by the UCL Brain Bank. The resulting reconstructed data will be use to build computational atlases in later stages of an ERC project. 

This project provides an exciting opportunity for a PDRA at the interface between histology, neuroscience, biomedical imaging, computer vision and statistics, with a huge potential imaging in the neuroimaging field. The PDRA will be expected to develop novel techniques, and produce implementations that will be made publicly available to the research community.

This post is funded for 24 months in the first instance.

Candidates must have a upper second honours degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or comparable subject. Also candidates should have a PhD or equivalent research experience in biomedical image analysis which is essential for this post.
