Duties and Responsibilities

The Institute of Healthcare Engineering invites applications for a Lecturer in advanced fetal, maternal and neonatal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). This is an exciting opportunity for an potential candidate with relevant skills in this area to join an internationally leading research group and to develop advanced MRI in fetal and maternal medicine to support our new Wellcome / EPSRC Centre for Surgical and Interventional Sciences.

The Translational Imaging Group within the Centre for Medical Image Computing was established to bring engineering innovation in medical imaging into the clinic. The group is seeking to expand its translational research into the area of fetal, maternal and neonatal imaging through close collaboration with clinical colleagues at University College Hospital (UCH) and to create the infrastructure that will bring together the best of engineering, medicine and applied sciences and provide the world leaders in translational imaging.


Key Requirements

The post holder should have exceptional expertise and experience in computational modelling applied to young populations. They will have a strong mathematical and engineering background and relevant experience in the following research areas: Image analysis and imaging biomarker development in fetal, neonatal and maternal MRI and its translation into the clinical environment;MRI physics and the development of novel imaging protocols in the area of fetal, neonatal and maternal MRI; MRI computational modelling in fetal, neonatal and maternal clinical applications.
